• Fall 2009 Registration deadline 8/15/09; We will, as usual, keep registration open until divisions have filled. 

• AYSL Capital Improvement Campaign:  When you register for Spring 2009, you will notice what appears to be a $12.00 increase in each child's registration.  We are charging the additional $12.00 once per family as part of the AYSL capital improvement campaign.  We are raising these funds to have irrigation installed on pad #3 at Poor Farm Park.  Once the irrigation system is in place, the county will add additional lighting on that field.  AYSL feel this will benefit all of our recreational program player by alleviating some of the crowding at Poor Farm, older teams can practice further into the evening if the fields are lit.

• Registration notes--please read before registering:

  • All registrations are made online, you can pay via credit card or check; should you choose to pay by check, mail your payment to:

    • AYSL, PO Box 2152, Ashland VA 23005.  

  • Your registration is NOT COMPLETE and your child will NOT be assigned to a team until your financial obligation is met by one of the following:

    • Valid payment (check received by mail).

    • Requesting financial aid with subsequent board approval (download form).

    • Fall or Spring seasons--Coaching your child's team (your first child's registration fees will be refunded)

      • You must register online as a coach, AND be assigned a team. 

        • You must do both to be qualify for the refund. 

      • NOTE: This applies to spring and fall soccer only.  We do not offer discounts for the Indoor sessions.

• When all else fails, contact the registrar (diane@edusoft-lc.com), to walk you through the process.

General Registration Information
In the spirit of fairness, we do not make team assignments on a first come, first assigned basis.  Special team/team mate requests are considered, but cannot always be honored.  Team rosters will have minimum and maximum number of players depending on age division.  The total number of teams per age division depends upon the number of coaches who are willing to volunteer their time.  As team limits are met, a waiting list will be established until additional coaches become available.  Children may be assigned to an older division based on size, skill level and maturity.

Old registration news, why we changed providers twice in one year :-(

AYSL selected Count Me In as our online registration provider in October 2007.  We feel that online registration represents a significant benefit to our all-volunteer organization. In  exchange for a small fee for each registration, CMI provided online registration, processed credit card payments, and software that allows us to organize the league; division, teams, schedules, email blasts, etc.  CMI was supposed to remit a check to AYSL twice a month for the balance of the credit card fees due AYSL.  On 12/15, AYSL received an email from CMI stating they had turned off credit card processing, because they no longer had funds to pay AYSL.  In other words, they took the funds due to AYSL, and used it for their own operating expenses. They did not pass the the credit card transaction payments on to AYSL.  AYSL is one of ~220 clubs across the country affected by this.   CMI has since been forced into bankruptcy.  To read about the situation click here.  AYSL had no other choice but to find another online registration provider.  In January we selected Bonzi Sports Software.

Bonzi's agreement requires that AYSL set up our own credit card merchant account, so the funds from your credit card transactions go directly into AYSL's account, and we will never have the issue of having another party handling our credit card transactions.
